Here are some photographs of Quincy Ek, my first homebrew.

These will be ready to drink this weekend. I definitely had some issues when it came to carbonation, but I found a nice calculator online that should help me avoid these in the future.

I opened up a few last week, and I have found that they have a distinct and pleasant apricot taste.

I tried some old black and white medium format film with the Holga camera while in Europe last year. There must have been a slight problem with the loading/unloading, because I’m getting a weird triangle across all my photographs. Here are two examples:

The picture above was taken in Nice at a beach. The beaches there are very rocky and the stones are called “gallets”. It made for a beautiful picture.

I took this in a random town that we stopped in south-central France. We were on the way to Mont Ventoux to see the tour.
Also, I very quickly scanned in the first of the 35mm roll I took. I plan on using GIMP with a bunch of these images and then posting them to Darjix at some point. I think the photograph below might have been from Switzerland, but I need to double-check.

I was inspired by this article to create my own Air Force One flyover photograph.

My company gave me a Flip Mino HD video camera. There is no way I would ever buy one myself. If I wanted a video camera, I would have gone with a handheld camcorder. However, now that I have it, I think it is great and I value the Flip Mino HD form factor. It’s an awesome gift.
I don’t have any videos to share yet. Mostly because I have had a hard time trying to figure out how to import the Flip’s video in Cinelerra. The issue, it turns out, is that the audio format doesn’t seem to work. There must be something mucked up with the version of AAC that the Flip uses, because Cinelerra really garbles it up.
After many hours of experimentation, I figured out how to get it to work. You have to use avidemux to export out the audio (no changes to video which is h.264) as AAC/FAAC.
Hopefully this will save someone else a few hours of experimentation. I hope to post a YouTube video soon.

I went snowshoeing for the first time the other day. I took the following picture. I will try to post a gear review next.

I snapped a few photographs of airplane mechanics on my way to Northwest Arkansas this week. It did not really occur to me until after my flight that they were working on the engine immediately before the flight. I really hope that it was a routine repair, and not something unusual.

In the photograph above, you can see two mechanics working on something. The way they are sitting is sort of interesting. It almost looks like they are having lunch. The photo below is my favorite though, because it reminds me of Dr. Strangelove.

I should just stop worrying and love to fly.

Tracey is making rings like crazy, and she decided to let me walk around with 13k worth of wedding bands.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been traveling to Arkansas every week, and my life is pretty boring 4/7ths of the time. I’m going to try to make more frequent updates.
Here’s a picture for you. I like the Giraffe looking at the camera.

Fortunately, the woman also moved to a different seat. In this photo, I like the juxtaposition of the different animal prints.

I spotted a Karmann Ghia while walking around Montreal last weekend.

Also, I took this picture of a neon sign.

Hooray for Canada

I spotted a green snail today while walking Scooter.
